I am going to do things a little different today. I am going to do my postings this evening (so please come back tonight or Saturday morning and check in). I have had a lot of appointments and am doing a great deal of research...I am about to embark in an exciting journey.
I have decided to start a home daycare center. I have been on the phone with the licensing department, etc. I am a former child protective service worker and have my degree in Psychology. I was actually working on a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology when Savvy was born and the roller coaster with liver disease began.
I have been thinking about this idea for a while and finally approached my husband with it last night. I was ready for the {debate} ... I mean our entire downstairs will be converted in a child care environment rather then a living room/dining room. To my delight he is very supportive of the idea and thinks I will be wonderful at it...nothing like a little ego boost from the hubby to make a girls day!
I have my first licensing meeting and am already working on a curriculum (with help from my sister who is a teacher - I want a rich environment for my child and the one's in my care). I would love to hear from you if you are an at home provider or if you use an at home provider....Tips, advice, ideas....

That is so wonderful! Congratulations on that huge decision. As a mom who uses in home daycare centers I greatly appreciate all those who do the job...which allows me to work and someone wonderful to be with my child. Good Luck!
