Funny Cashier Story...

My husband came home 2 weeks ago shaking his head because the Publix cashier handed him coupons back.  He told her he was certain that every coupon had an item that corresponded to it and went through and pulled out items from the bags she said did not have coupons...it was one of  {those} experiences at Publix...such a bummer.  When he came home he just gave me the "Extra" coupons and said...sometimes you win some ... sometimes you lose some..no point in making a stink about it.  We both knew that EVERY coupon had an item...he shops with a list that I take so much time to prepare for him and I always triple check it when I know he is going alone.  He simply goes through the aisles and pulls the items and quantities from his list.  My husband is pretty laid back ... he told me that she had put stacks of coupons and was so confused and analyzed each coupon that at the end he was confused too with the "organization" she had done...so...he paid $4 more then he really should have and he came home with extra coupons ... when I looked at the coupons I realized the cashier did not know the store's policy.  She had pulled out the Publix store coupons and not allowed them to be matched up with the manufacturer coupons...that was why she kept telling him that a coupon had already been used....and since my husband knows he can stack coupons at our Publix he did not understand....sometimes it happens...the cashiers themselves do not know the policy.

This weekend we went together and I always "Scan" for friendly looking cashier's.  If you look like you are having a bad day...I would rather wait then hand you a stack of coupons.  So, I recognized a cashier that I just like a lot!  She always cheers me on when I give her the coupons.  She will go through and make sure things match up but with a smile on her face (what a difference this makes)...this is the {Funny} part to the story.  I had a total of $87 and a savings of $127....she goes through the receipt and I thought she was going to say..."you saved"...rather she said, " I have seen you do better!"  Oh my goodness I lost it..."you didn't do as well this week as you normally do"...now that was a hoot...so I told her I would find her next week and I feel the challenge....I need to do better on my bottom line!  Do you have a funny coupon story?  I would love to hear it!

Sometimes I print coupons in b/w to sage some ink and this one time I went to the publix and the cashier saw the printed coupons and told me that they didn't accept fotocopies and I said "I printed those from internet", and she's like pointing at the coupon and keep telling me that it lookde like a fotocopy and if it was already used it would scan. Turned out that they scanned 'cause they weren't fotocopies and she had to apologize to me for doubting.. But your story is really funny!

That is so interesting because I ALWAYS print my coupons in black and white...and I use recycled paper to boot. The expense of having to print the coupons in color would cut from the bottom line..

How funny! Nothing like a healthy competition with the cashier to get you motivated. You'd better step it up!

wow!!! I almost never use coupns!! I look for them, but when I actually go to buy that item, I find a better deal on the same item, different brand, so I always save more just by shopping around.

Presh...I have to say my experience is so different...the items I use coupons for I get at pennies on the dollar and many times free (with planning of course). Just yesterday we purchased the Kraft Sandwich Shoppe Mayo for Free at Publix by using their store coupon...it is BOGO and they have a $1 coupon on their yellow flyer..I used 2 per BOGO as they allow and got all 6 bottles for Free...my total $ adds up on meats, veggies and fruits...I would Love to have you share your tips/comparisons.
