Savvy, School Lock Down, Freaking out! {My Ramblings}!

I received a call about an hour ago.  I was about to leave to pick Savvy up from school and I answered the phone because it was the school calling....I was told not to come up the school is on lock down...no one in and no one out.  I learned on the news that a "Credible Threat" has been made that "Something Big" was going to happen to a government building in the city today....the entire city has all of school's and government buildings on lock down.

I am sick to my stomach and ANGRIER then you can ever imagine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why the hell do we treat each other like trash?  Why do we threaten and hurt each other?  WHY THE HELL do we think it is okay to cause fear in others???????????????  My 3 year old along with every other child who went to school today is held captive today and I am SO FREAKING ANGRY!

Breaking news report I just watched -
I just learned that what was a city threat has now grown to the ENTIRE COUNTY!!!!!!!!!

Update - she is home.

I spent all my free time praying for my friends, teachers and kids who are employeed by Broward County Schools today. My friend was updating me from lock down in her office (she is the principals secretary of a local high school.)

I grew up in those schools and it is scary. I am sorry that you and Savvy had to go through that. I will say after talking to my friends who are principals and teachers there and my best friends 7 year old, they all said it went smoothly. One my friends, a mom, said, she is just happy they had a plan and it was excuted safely.

CRAZY world...I hope they catch this couple and arrest them.

I have to say that I think the school system and the police department handled things amazingly well (although I am still freaked...it is a Mami thing...I know you all get it)..Savvy was just thrilled that she got to eat a snack in her classroom rather then the lunch room. Her teacher had snacks and passed them out and the kids (her age) knew nothing except that it was a "special" day....I heard a little boy about 7 explain to his mom that the school was on "lock down" and that meant he wasn't able to eat his ice cream...it was very upsetting to him :)

I am glad she got home safely. Crazy! I am thankful that has not happened to either of the boys (yet, yikes). I am glad all went as smoothly as it could
