Savvilicious {Ropa Vieja} and a video review of the Soda Stream Machine...A Blogmania Sponsor!

Ropa Vieja literally translates to "Old Clothes"! I have no idea why but that is what this savvilicious dish is called!  This is a pretty fast dish to prep but it does take a long while for it to cook so it is the perfect weekend meal.  Your house will smell amazing and it will seem like you were slaving over the stove all day!

Ingredients:

2 1/2 lbs of rump roast
1 28 oz can of diced tomatoes
1 10 oz can of diced tomatoes w/ green chiles
4 tbls cumin
3 tbls basil
1/2 tbls of crushed red peppers (optional-omit if you don't like spicy foods)
1 jar of capers, drained
1 10 oz jar of pitted spanish olives, drained
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

You will need a pot with an oven-safe lid for this. The good part is that you will only have one pot to wash at the end.

Pre-heat your oven to 300 degrees.

Heat about 1 tbls of olive oil in the pot, and put the meat in, browning all sides of the meat. Once that is done, then pour in all of the ingredients over the meat. You want to make sure that there is liquid covering just to the top of the meat, so you can either add a little water, or add a few more tomatoes. Stir to mix, put on the lid and put in the oven.

Keep cooking until the meat is tender enough to just pull apart with two forks and be shredded without any problem. This will take about 2 ½ to 3 hours, maybe a little longer depending on how thick the meat was to start with.

BunnyPrints.com {Review}....a Blogmania Sponsor!

My husband is having a birthday next month and it is super special to us!  His birthday will mark a year anniversary for my daughter.  A year of not having one hospitalization!!  She has been to the ER this year and of course had her labs drawn but not one night was spent hospitalized....this time last year she picked up a virus and was doing really bad...she was fighting for her life {again}.

My princess finally came home but it took a while for her to get better...

So, you can imagine the joy in our hearts to know that she has been doing so well for so long...2 years ago she had a liver transplant.  Last year she got so ill...so very ill...and today...she is on the sofa next to me thrilled to be snacking on pretzels and watching Sesame Street.  This is the ULTIMATE Birthday Gift any parent can ask for.
Our family has a mission and we want to donate a "Welcome Wagon" to the Ronald McDonald House in Fort Lauderdale - you can read about it HERE.

I wish I had a better picture to share because frankly my picture does not do the invitation justice.  I had to put a piece of paper over our address but if you go to Bunnyprints.com you can see the image of the invite so much better and then you can check out the other super cute cards they have to offer.

I have to tell you how wonderful Bunnyprints.com is....they created these invites for my husband's birthday party.  I know you can't read the bottom of the invite based on the picture but it says, "In lieu of a birthday gift for Robert we ask that you bring a new toy to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Fort Lauderdale through our families mission.  You may learn more about our mission at http://MamiOnaMcMission.blogspot.com/"

I can tell you that the invites at Bunnyprints.com are adorable and the "company" has a huge heart.  I am delighted to be working with them as a Blogmania sponsor!  Yes, you will be able to enter to win a prize package from Bunnyprints during Blogmania and thrilled to have their support on Mami on a McMission!

Thank you Bunnyprints.com!

Kitchen Clothesline {Review}

My daughter loves to spend time in the kitchen with her Super Papi cooking up a storm.  She has her own site that features non-dairy recipes and products called, No MOO For Me!  I have mentioned on several occasions on this blog how much I like Etsy.  The reason I like Etsy and the items that are sold on Etsy is that they are handmade.  One store owner, Sally, runs Kitchen Clothesline.  She makes adorable bibs and aprons and sent me one of each for Savannah.

Savvy wearing her Cooking Bib

                          Savvy wearing her Apron

Savvy liked both a lot but preferred her apron.  She really liked being able to put her little hands in her pockets.  I liked both because she has a tendency of wiping her hands on the front of her shirt and although this doesn't prevent it ... it keeps her clothes nice and clean. If you want to purchase an apron or a bib you can check out Kitchen Clothesline HERE.  Sally makes adult aprons, and half aprons as well as children's.  If you want a chance to {Win} a bib for your little one you can enter during {{Blogmania}}.  Kitchen Clothesline is a Blogmania sponsor and you will have a chance to win a bib your little princess or your little prince!

Bunnyprints.com Review

I am planning my daughter's birthday party...she is turning 4!!  Yes, I realize that her birthday is not until December but you know everytime I think about coming around it just makes me smile.  A Birthday is {Very} special in our home...The Party Theme is a "Princess Party!" and you know when I headed to Bunnyprints.com and looked at the items they had for a birthday party...I was in party planning heaven!

I was delighted when my package arrived from Bunnyprints.com...I mean wouldn't you be if you open the box and these cute little Thank You cards come out!  Seriously, aren't they adorable?!

The cards arrived and I loved them.  Afterall, a princess is gracious and {must} thank all of those who attended her celebration!

I am delighted to share with you that Bunnyprints.com will be offering a {Giveaway} of 30 Free cards or invitations during Blogmania!  I know I am excited for you!!  If you can't wait to get some adorable invitations (I realize must people don't plan parties 6 months in advance...or do you?) just head over HERE.

Disclosure: The Thank You cards were sent to me for Free for the purpose of this review.  The opinions are my own.  NO other compensation was received.  The Blogmania giveaway prize will be sent directly to the winner by Bunnyprints.com.

Ceiva Digital Frames Review

I am going to start off by acknowledging that you may be able to get cheaper digital frames BUT I can tell you that you will not be able to get a better digital frame.  I truly think Ceiva Digital Frames are the best.  I know that it is a pretty bold statement I just made but these frames are different..they are not just pretty to look at they can interact with each other!  Imagine being able to send pictures directly to grandma and grandpa's house who live in another state...directly to their frame! You can send photos from your camera, you can even get the weather and news updates daily on your frame.  This is truly the next level of digital frames.

We were sent the CEIVA Pro 80 Photo Frame and the CEIVAshare Photo Frame which come with really attractive frames but if you want to jazz it up (I am thinking of doing this) you can purchase a a Ceiva Dazzle Crystal Kit!

I can tell you that my husband fell in love immediately.  As he was setting up the Ceiva frame I could hear his excitement...he kept calling me over to tell me how cool it was.  I thought it was a really nice but did not fall in LOVE until I woke up one morning and my daughter was giggling while she was looking at the frame.  The pictures of her Make-A-Wish trip were flipping through and she was exclaiming with giggles, "Princess Savannah and Princess Belle", "Princess Savannah and Cinderella", "Princess Savannah and...."...it was beyond precious.  My hubby keeps the pictures changing in the frame we have set up in the bedroom for every morning she now walks in and wants to look at her pictures...I think my 3 year old is the Biggest Fan!

The set up is easy to do.  The thing that we enjoy is that we get different pictures sent to our frame daily...seriously, the frame can pull up to 60 pictures every day so you can keep a continuous stream of new photos coming through or you can keep your faves!  You don't even need the internet...the frames can be connected over a phone line!  I know I have used a lot of exclamation marks in this review and it is simply because I truly love our frame.  I could go on and on about all of the features but I think it is best if I just tell you to visit them at www.Ceiva.com.

You may have noticed my sidebar featuring Ceiva Digital Frames under Blogmania....that is because during Blogmania on September 15-16th you can enter for a chance to win your own Ceiva Digital Frame!!!!!!!!! I KNOW MORE EXCLAMATION MARKS!!!!  You will have a change to win a

CEIVA Pro 80 with a one-year PicturePlan, MSRP is $179.99

Disclosure:  I received the frames and pictureplan free of charge for the purpose of the review.  I was not compensated in any other form.  The opinions I have expressed are my own.

I will be joining Blogmania this September!

I am excited to announce that Florida Frugal Family will be a part of Blogmania!
